:wave: Welcome to Core’s weekly updates! Here’s the latest developments and exciting features the Core community is working on to enhance the overall user experience and utility of the Core blockchain.

Ecosystem Highlights

  • Core’s ecosystem continues to expand rapidly:
    • Over 4,900 Bitcoin (valued at approximately $327M) staked with Core
    • 55% of Bitcoin mining hash power delegated to Core
    • 100+ dApps with $166 million in Total Value Locked (TVL)
    • More than 100,000 Daily Active Users (DAU) as of July 24,2024

Staking

  • Dual Staking Model - Upcoming Upgrade to Non-Custodial BTC Staking
    • Core Foundation announced the introduction of a Dual Staking model, combining Bitcoin and CORE staking. This new model aims to boost Bitcoin yields and further align the Bitcoin and Core blockchains.
    • Core has already set the standard with the first-ever non-custodial Bitcoin staking, establishing a Bitcoin Risk-Free Rate; ~5k Bitcoin valued at ~$320M (at the time of writing) have been staked with Core - but now, the bond between Coretoshis and Bitcoiners is stronger than ever.
    • Dual staking will reward Bitcoin stakers who are invested in Core long term, and hence boost their BTC staking reward when they also stake CORE. The more CORE they stake, the more reward they receive.

Table Talks

  • Core Hosts Bitcoin Social Cafe at Bitcoin 2024, Nashville
    • Core Foundation hosted the Bitcoin Social Cafe in Nashville, bringing together Bitcoin projects and enthusiasts to discuss bringing DeFi to Bitcoin. This event provided an excellent opportunity for networking and idea-sharing among VCs, developers, and Bitcoiners.
    • Core’s presence at Bitcoin 2024 highlighted its collaborations with various projects in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Bitcoin Social Cafe featured BitGo, Satoshi App, Element Wallet, Halborn Security, Meson Finance, DeFi Technologies and BounceBit as event sponsors.
  • Initial contributor to Core, Rich Rines spoke about Dual Staking Model at TalkingTokens podcast.
  • Core Success Stories AMA - Session#1 with BitReserve - Explore their journey of building on Core
  • Building BTCfi: Building on Core

Other Updates

  • After launching CORE ETP, DeFi Technologies added CORE to their treasury and plans to participate in CORE staking. Read more.
