[NOTICE] MetaMask Mobile Update Causing Transaction Failures on Core Network

We’d like to inform you about a recent issue affecting users across the Core ecosystem due to an update in MetaMask Mobile.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: What’s Happening

The latest MetaMask Mobile release sets the default transaction type to 0x2, which corresponds to EIP-1559. However, as of yet, Core blockchain does not currently support EIP-1559 transactions.

As a result, any transactions initiated via MetaMask Mobile are likely to fail when interacting with Core-based dApps and smart contracts.

:warning: Impacted dApps

This issue is known to affect, but is not limited to several dApps in the Core ecosystem and especially the Core Staking through the UI.

:white_check_mark: Recommended Workaround

:person_blond_hair: For General Users

Use the MetaMask Desktop Extension (browser-based), which remains fully functional and compatible with the Core network.

:construction_worker:For dApps on Core

A quick fix is to use type: 0x0 along with maxFeePerGas and maxPriorityFeePerGas

:wrench: Next Steps

Our team is actively working to ensure a resolution is delivered as soon as possible. We understand the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your patience.

For technical discussion or to track the issue, please refer to the GitHub thread here:

This is a temporary disruption. Core remains fully operational via supported tooling, and a permanent fix is in progress.

Thank you for your continued support and for being part of the Core ecosystem.
